1)
Tenaciousness is a skill. What are the behaviors that you have used (or
developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
In order to
keep up with the requirements, sign onto eLearning at least once a day to see
when your next assignments are due. Also, you must look at the assignments and its
requirements. If you need to record, you must find time in the week to do the recordings.
It is better to plan your week ahead of time than letting the assignments catch
up to you.
2)
Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt
like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've
developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or
experiences most contributed to this?
I felt like
giving up after the 3rd or 4th recording because I truly
just did not have time in my schedule to walk around Turlington and find people
to interview. The thought of failing a simple assignment because I couldn’t
find time to record really bothered me. This class is what you make of it.
3) Three
tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1)
fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious
mindset' ?
This class is
what you make of it. This means that if you actually put in the effort to do
the assignments and meet the requirements, you will definitely pass this class.
Although it is a lot of busy work, it’s manageable if you keep an open mindset.
If you go in thinking that there’s no way for you to complete the assignments,
then there is no way you will be able to pass this class. Also, when you do the recordings, make sure you add them into your post to get credits. Also,
keep in mind that it could be a lot worse than you have it right now. I find it
better to do hands-on assignments than to have quizzes and exams every couple
weeks.

Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with your tip to log onto elearning at least once a day just to stay on top of all the assignments. I also like how you said this class is what you make of it because that is absolutely true. This is class that you get out what you put in. Keep staying on top of the assignments and not procrastinating and you will continue to do just fine in this class.
Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI would almost disagree with you when you said that its better to have hands on assignments than exams and quizzes. The reason I don't actually disagree is that a few of the assignments we've done have really opened my eyes to how customers and entrepreneurs think about the world. Some of the assignments are definitely busy work that I can't stand doing. Seems like you have the right mindset to get through the class though! I didn't do this assingment but here's the link to my blog: http://cassandrathe.blogspot.com/
Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI agree with many things you said. In order to make it in this class you have to put in the effort. It IS what you make of it.
I also agree on the difficulty in finding the time for the interviews. As an online student, I also find it difficult to find people who are willing to take the time to do an interview. I feel more students would be willing to stop to help out with assignments because they could easily be in the same situation and understand what a fellow student goes through.
If you have a chance, check out my half-way reflection. I find we have very similar things we take away from the class so far.
